The footwear industry is a core branch of light industry manufacturing. It is a systematic manufacturing system centered on shoe structural design, material processing, component sewing, molding and bonding, and finishing and packaging. It covers the production of all categories of civilian casual shoes, sports shoes, leather shoes, work shoes, and functional shoes. Modern footwear industry integrates mechanical automation, rubber and plastic chemicals, textile technology, and precision molding technology to form a standardized, streamlined, and modular production system. This entry, based on national standard footwear production processes, completely includes the machinery, hand tools, raw and auxiliary materials, and special chemical materials for the entire footwear production process. It adopts a rigorous classification, hierarchical definition, and process association annotation in the style of Wikipedia, covering the entire chain from raw material pretreatment to finished product packaging. It is a standardized tool encyclopedia entry for the footwear industry.
The mainstream shoemaking processes are divided into five major categories: cold cementing (for mass production), Goodyear welt construction (for high-end leather shoes), injection molding, vulcanization, and stitch-and-turn. All equipment, materials, and chemical supplies are adapted to the corresponding processes. This entry focuses on the general mass-produced cold cementing process, compatible with specialized shoemaking processes and categories.
